August was a month defined by resilience, validation, and ecosystem growth. While the DAO entered a conservative mode to optimize emissions and protect long-term sustainability, Hydra Chain still reached a major business development milestone with its first Tier-1 integration, and new external projects continued to expand the ecosystem in creative directions. From DAO efficiency and discipline to an integration that places Hydra among industry leaders, the chain demonstrated its ability to adapt.

📣 1. Marketing Update

August was a lean but efficient month for Hydra’s marketing program. With reduced spend and fewer posts, the team focused on cost-efficiency, creator-native designs, and high-quality collaborations — achieving strong engagement concentration despite lower overall volume.

📊 Key Metrics

  • Total Posts: 16
  • Spend: $2,080 (↓ 47.8% vs. July)
  • Negotiated Savings: $2,174 (≈ 51.1% discount)
  • Reach: 360,867 (↓ 35.6%)
  • Saves: 514 (↓ 68.5%)

✅ What Worked

  • Creator-led content redesign set new engagement benchmarks.
  • Aggressive negotiation, securing over 50% savings.
  • Mid-tier accounts (70k–300k followers) continued to outperform larger ones.

⚠️ Areas to Improve

  • A few accounts underdelivered despite prior success.
  • Need stronger CTA strategies to boost comments and shares.
  • Community engagement in comment sections remains underutilized.

🧩 Process Notes

  • Top 3 creators represented just 18.75% of posts but delivered ~80% of engagement.
  • Visual aesthetic + native format posts yielded the highest trust and traction.
  • “Template C” (tech-driven, visually rich designs) proved most effective.

🔮 Next Steps

  • Maintain budget efficiency while gradually scaling up.
  • Recruit more creators with high adaptability and strong engagement density.
  • Activate community to boost organic comments and visibility.

Even with lower spend, August confirmed that Hydra’s marketing pipeline is now highly optimized and scalable. Over four months (May–August), the influencer program evolved from raw testing to a repeatable, ROI-disciplined system delivering 1.47M+ cumulative views.

🤝 3. Business Development Update

Hydra Secures Tier-1 Integration with Smithii Tools 🔧

A major milestone was reached in August as Hydra Chain integrated with Smithii Tools, a trusted no-code Web3 platform used by developers across the industry. Smithii’s integrations are exclusive, supporting only a shortlist of top chains including Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Blast, and Sui. Hydra now joins this elite group, standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the most established blockchains.

Smithii Tools empowers builders with an all-in-one suite for token creation, liquidity management, and distribution — including liquidity pool builders, multisenders, snapshot tools, and more. Backed by audits and a transparent team, it is a platform trusted across the Web3 ecosystem.

This integration is more than just technical — it’s a market validation of Hydra’s vision. Hydra’s sub-second finality, permissionless validator set, and dynamic economic model are attracting the attention of Tier-1 platforms. With Hydra now listed alongside the giants, more projects are expected to follow.

Role Adjustment & Strategy

Business development has shifted to a results-based model under the new conservative mode. Our first biz dev, Stoyan, will be in Dubai during part of the year to build targeted relationships with high-quality projects through personal outreach. Payroll has been temporarily suspended during the quiet summer period, with efforts expected to ramp up later in the year when events peak. Longer term, Hydra DAO plans to expand with multiple biz dev reps across hubs, but for now this trial positions Hydra for strong integrations.

🗳️ 4. DAO Update

The DAO remains the operational backbone of Hydra, managing critical areas such as:

  • Core nodes & validators
  • Explorers & RPC nodes
  • Infrastructure & network security
  • Marketing & communications
  • Community management
  • Key apps like the bridge, DEX, and staking portal
  • Business development & exchange support

In August, the DAO initiated conservative mode — a strategic preservation approach designed to alleviate sell-side pressure, protect market stability, and allow for organic recovery. The cost optimization plan has been initiated, but the reduction will only become partially visible in the September report and fully visible from October onwards, subject to completion of the migration plan.

Key Points:

  • Emissions ceiling: The DAO has set a self-imposed 5% annualized inflation ceiling for emissions, flexibly adjusted as needed.
  • Healthy inflation levels: At a $0.15 HYDRA price, DAO inflation is only ~4.4% annually — well within safe bounds.

Team adjustments:

  • Nikola & Florian -> Continue to work pro-bono
  • Infrastructure -> Migrate to a lower cost supplier (aiming for 60% cost reduction)
  • Engineering & Product -> No change
  • QA -> Reduce work from full-time to part-time
  • Hydra Comms Manager -> Temporarily reduce frequency and output of communication from high to moderate intensity
  • Social Media Outreach -> Reduce work pace to moderate level and focus on pitching editorial teams for organic promotion of Hydra, while continuing to shortlist suitable KOLs and accounts for SMM outreach
  • Marketing spend programs -> Temporarily halt all new expenses and liquidations to allow sentiment to improve
  • Biz Dev -> Suspend payroll temporarily until a breakthrough/successful integration is completed from any of the deals already in the pipeline

Hydra is now leaner, more efficient, and fully capable of sustaining network operations without compromising long-term growth. The DAO will continue to adjust as needed, scaling leaner in difficult environments and expanding when opportunities arise.

DAO Expenditure & Proposals

  • Total Infrastructure, Staffing and Legal Expenditure in August 2025 for the working month of July was $23,100.80. (Cost cutting implemented in August will be partially visible in the September report and fully visible from October onwards, subject to completion of the migration plan. Projected new monthly cost after optimization: ~$15,710.)
  • Instagram Marketing Expenses for the working month of August 2025 were $2,080.
  • Expenses for the Kucoin trading competition held in July/August were 12,227 HYDRA (~$1,850 at time of distribution).
  • Two proposals — the OMF Grant and Exchange Maintenance — were voted on in August 2025. At least one proposal is expected to be voted on in September.

Your support for these projects — whether it’s following updates, providing feedback, or helping spread the word — makes a real difference. But always, remember❗️These are external initiatives, not official Hydra products. The Hydra DAO does not have a formal vetting or approval process for projects building on Hydra, and all information is provided as is. Please always do your own research (DYOR) 🙏

✅ 6. Looking Ahead

August showed that Hydra can tighten discipline while still pushing forward — cutting costs responsibly, securing Tier-1 recognition, and welcoming new ecosystem projects. The DAO’s conservative mode is a confidence signal, proving that Hydra is adaptable, efficient, and built for the long game.

As we move into September, the focus remains on sustainability, resilience, and growth. With core operations secure, Hydra is positioned to expand when the market provides the opening — and the community’s support will be critical in making that expansion powerful.

These adjustments also highlight the dedication of individual team members, many of whom are contributing pro-bono or reducing compensation to ensure Hydra remains strong. This alignment between contributors and the wider community reinforces the shared belief in Hydra’s long-term mission.

Hydra’s foundation is clear: fast, decentralized, resilient. And together, we’re building toward the next breakthrough. 🐉⚔️
