📚 Long-Form Articles

In June, Hydra maintained its steady momentum with 16 long-form articles published to our revitalized Reddit community. These articles continued to educate, inspire, and align the ecosystem around key updates — from decentralization breakthroughs to real-world adoption milestones.

In June, unfortunately our Hydra Chain X account was suspended. Appeals are underway to resolve the situation, however it’s possible that it will become permanent. We’re not wasting time dwelling on this — we’ve launched a new official X account. Please make sure you’re following it to stay up to date with all posts, news, and to show your support! 😃

We’ll also be posting all articles to our revitalized Medium page too.

The community has been doing a good job engaging with content and sharing posts — your support is clearly making a difference, but a consistent effort is needed! ❤️

🔧 2. Development Update

✅ Completed

A number of tasks were successfully completed in June, enhancing the platform’s stability, user interface, and data accessibility.

  • RPC Node Lockdown: To improve load balancer compatibility, the RPC node HTTPS port will now automatically close if a node falls behind by more than 50 blocks.
  • Rewards INVALID_EPOCH Error Resolved: An issue causing missing rewards and INVALID_EPOCH errors after a position ended has been fixed.
  • DEX Info App Update: The DEX Info app has been updated to use the explorer API for fetching block data, which optimizes storage usage by moving away from the subgraph.
  • Staking Frontend Update: The staking frontend now also utilizes the explorer API for block fetching and includes caching for block data.
  • Visibility of Rewards on Past Positions: A fix was implemented to ensure that generated and claimable rewards are now visible for positions that have been swapped or have ended.
  • Staking Subgraph Extension: The staking subgraph has been extended to support withdrawable amounts and provide cooldown data for users.
  • System Health Alerts: A new system health alert system has been implemented.
  • CoinGecko API Deployment: The CoinGecko API for DEX listing has been reworked and deployed as a Cloudflare worker with a public endpoint.
  • Portfolio Page UI Improvement: Timestamps have been added to staking positions on the frontend portfolio page, and positions are now sorted by this timestamp by default.
  • Withdrawables Section Enhancement: The withdrawables section in the staking frontend has been improved to display undelegations as individual line items with countdown timers and more intuitive withdraw button logic.
  • Undelegation Modal Bug Fix: An issue where the undelegation modal remained visible on the frontend after a position was undelegated has been resolved.
  • Subgraph Logic Update: The subgraph logic has been updated to align with recent changes in the swap fix, particularly concerning the claiming of legacy rewards.
  • Price Oracle Update: The Price Oracle has been modified to use the closing price for a given day.
  • Supply API Endpoints: API endpoints for total and circulating token supply have been added.

🔧 In Progress

Several key initiatives are currently underway to further improve the platform’s infrastructure, user experience, and external integrations.

  • RPC Node Health Check Mechanism: Improvements are being made to the health check system for mainnet RPC nodes, which includes the removal of nodes that are down or significantly lagging.
  • Validator Swap UX: The user interface and experience for the validator swap modal are being enhanced for better button visibility and overall usability.
  • Infrastructure Monitoring Configuration: Monitoring and alert systems are being set up for various infrastructure machines.
  • Portfolio Page Vesting Information: A new “Vesting” column is being proposed for the portfolio page to display the vesting duration for relevant positions.
  • Staking Frontend Portfolio Tab Optimization: Suggestions are being considered to optimize the layout of the staking frontend’s portfolio tab, including renaming columns and other UI adjustments to save space.
  • CoinGecko Integration: The team is coordinating with CoinGecko to ensure that Hydra trading pairs are indexed correctly and that the corresponding coin and token pages are updated.
  • Daily RPC Node Restarts: A cronjob is being considered for mainnet RPC machines to trigger a daily restart as a measure to control gas consumption.
  • Mainnet RPC Request Failures: An issue with large multicall requests from the DEX failing on the mainnet RPC, which is causing usability problems on the DEX, is being addressed.
  • Documentation Enhancement: Work continues on improving the project’s documentation.

🤝 3. Business Development Update

Hydra’s business development work this past month focused on expanding the ecosystem and securing strategic connections to help drive real adoption and growth. Here’s where things stand and what is progressing now.

  1. Partner Outreach and Pipeline Development: The business development team actively reached out to over 20 potential partners across different segments, including infrastructure providers, launchpads, and individual projects. Several conversations are ongoing, with optimism about converting these into strategic collaborations.
  2. No-Code Integration Tool (Continued Progress): The team continues work on integrating a key partner’s no-code tool, designed to empower users to build applications on HYDRA without technical barriers. Development and technical alignment are progressing as planned.
  3. Launchpad Engagement: The team has deepened discussions with several top-tier global launchpads to explore co-marketing, token launches, and cross-ecosystem integrations. The goal remains to establish HYDRA as a viable blockchain for innovative projects seeking scalability and low transaction costs.
  4. DeFi Project Outreach: Engagements with DeFi projects have advanced, with initial technical discussions underway on how HYDRA’s unique architecture can support their solutions. This includes exploring custom solutions for speed, security, and cost-efficiency.
  5. Business Development Materials and Strategy Update: New business decks tailored to specific verticals and partner types are being prepared to enhance outreach efficiency and improve the clarity of HYDRA’s value proposition.
  6. AI-Driven Outreach Strategy: A strategic initiative is underway to implement AI-powered agents for cold outreach and lead generation. This will enable the team to identify and engage potential partners more effectively and at scale.

Overall, the past month has been highly productive, laying critical groundwork for upcoming partnerships and integrations. The business development team remains focused and determined to ensure that Hydra continues to grow as a robust ecosystem capable of supporting diverse blockchain use cases.
